Piia Alavesa
Manager of the internal Design System - Metso Outotec

Piia has a Master’s degree from the University of Oulu on Information Processing Science. She has worked in the design field for roughly 2 decades, of which she has designed industrial solutions and built industrial design system(s) already for over 10 years. She has worked in oil & gas, marine and now in Metso Outotec. She is currently studying for a Master’s degree in Cyber Security at Jyväskylä University, this being her main hobby. Her Master’s degrees, background and work experience seem far from each other, but they have lots of commonalities and synergy, which could be taken as a topic on their own.

Janne Lammi
Design Lead - Terveystalo

Janne is Design Lead at Terveystalo and the guy who started the DS project at the company. He used to run a startup which helped companies build their own design systems and style guides. Based on his experience, he knows well how hard it is to make Design System projects successful. He likes to use a lot of Giphy animations in his slides.

Juhana Schulman
Senior Product Designer - Terveystalo

Juhana currently serves as a Senior Product Designer at Terveystalo. He recently became the first official product owner of Terveystalo's Design system. He is thrilled to expand his role from hands-on design to managing Design system as a product, taking it to the next level and facilitating also the organizational and collaboratory aspects related to it. Juhana is a versatile digital designer with a long backround in both in-house and agency settings. Juhana finds inspiration in urban nature and enjoys swimming in cold waters, as well as practicing hand standing (very frustrating hobby, not recommended).

Bjørn H. Dølvik
Senior design web developer - Netlight

Bjørn is a senior web developer from the Netlight Oslo office. He has a passion for good user experiences at the web and has been part of developing a variety of different design systems across different projects and domains. He would almost say building design systems has become a hobby. He'll join us to share some of his experience starting new design systems, collaboration between design and development, and other stories from his time working on design systems. On the personal side Bjørn loves getting lost in magical worlds through books, movies and video games.
